Christmas In New York

Christmas week in New York was an exhilarating experience. We walked around, soaking in the festive moods, lights and sounds of the city...stopping ever so often to savor the food. It was fascinating to see the diversity of cultures, blended in some places and distinct in others like a giant collage of the world. Here are a some  photographs which capture those moments...

Corbett Country

As we entered the plains of Ramnagar, I  remembered my childhood days, devouring the pages of the Jim Corbett classic, "Man Eaters of Kumaon".  Using Camp Forktail Creek as our base, we spent three days going Tiger Spotting (nothing but paw prints), Bird Watching (awesome!) and a Elephant Safari. Despite the cluster of hotels outside, the park itself is very well maintained and unspolit with a plethora of wildlife. A highlight of the trip was a drive to a really small village off the beaten path, where we had some breathtaking views of the Himalayas and many friendly villagers to talk to...over many cups of  chai...
